Tips for Safe Food Transportation

Keep it clean:

  • Get regular washouts

  • Follow a standard protocol

  • Know your prior cargo

  • Avoid contamination (air, dirt, people, pests)

  • keep your doors closed while waiting for your load


Keep it cool:

  • Maintain your trailer/refrigeration unit

  • Keep your air chute in good shape and installed properly

  • Pre-cool according to the shipper and outside conditions

  • Run transit temps on 'continuous.'


Keep Collected (record keeping):

  • Washout dates

  • Prior Cargo

  • Dates of training

  • Any other information that affects the safety of the food you transport
