Buyers
Buyers work directly with shippers to purchase the fruits and vegetables and get them to stores. Buyers are responsible for reading markets and predicting when consumers will be buying more produce.
Carriers
Trucking companies are critical in the "chain" and they must put their best employees in charge of monitoring the load, ensuring that cases and pallets don't shift and the proper temperatures are maintained from shipping to delivery.
Brokers
Transportation brokers are the "middle man" between buyers, shippers, and the carriers entrusted with hauling produce around the country. They are contacted by the shipper and tasked with choosing the right trucking company to safely deliver the load.
Shippers
Shippers (also known as coolers) are a fruit or vegetable's last stop after the field before hitching a ride on a truck to the store where it is purchased and enjoyed.
